The Church of the Nazarene is a holiness denomination formed by the joining of several denominations in Pilot Point, Texas in 1908.
We have emphasized the second work of grace, the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an empowering and purifying experience. We have always reached out to the poor and needy in our cities and around the world. We send out several hundred missionaries and sponsor institutions of higher education and ministry all over the world.
Personally, I come from a Christian family, attended 4 different denominations over the years and have been a Nazarene for more than 15 years. I felt the call to encourage my fellow Christians to believe the Bible and have some evidence and confidence to counter neo-orthodoxy-----a feel-good, politically correct version of Christianity that allows us to discount much of the Bible, all will be saved, Jesus didn't need to die for us, God is never a judge and more. Their humanistic thoughts make me hear the constant echo of
Satan's question in Genesis 3------"Did God really say......?" Thus, here we are.
